Upsala Glacier Viewpoint - Ea Cristina

Discovery is the proposal to enjoy the Off Road in Estancia Cristina.

The Chinook catamaran sets sail from the port in Punta Bandera towards the North Arm and the Cristina Channel. After about three hours of navigation, you arrive at the estancia, where all-terrain vehicles await the arrival of the participants to begin the ascent along a mountain road for about 9.5 km, until you reach the Hielos Continentales refuge.

From there it is a 20 minute hike over glacial erosion terrain, until reaching a privileged view of the eastern front of the Upsala Glacier, Lake Guillermo, the Southern Patagonian Ice and the Andes Mountains. The journey takes about 3 hours, reaching a height difference of 550 meters above sea level.

At the base, participants have time to have lunch at El Quincho and then take a guided tour of the Estancia’s Museo Costumbrista (old Shearing Shed), the Caterina River and the Chapel.
