Gourmet Glaciers has a very quiet dynamic that proposes a boat trip on-board the traditional Maria Turquesa Cruise, specially refurbished to enjoy an exclusive lunch in front of the majestic Spegazzini glacier.
Departing from the hotels in town, there is an hour-long drive to Punta Bandera Port (shuttle service not included). Once passengers arrive at the private port "La Soledad”, they will board an equipped ship to experience an unforgettable day.
Once on board, the captain and his crew give everyone a warm welcome. Moorings away, the boat heads to the Northern Canal of the lake, while the guide describes the itinerary. An interesting glaciology talk is given, with coffee service available during the whole navigation.
Later on, the ship may approach Upsala glacier front, whose access could be affected by wandering icebergs that fell off from its front. A slow journey will highlight incredible panoramic views that participants will enjoy from the upper deck. The navigation continues its way entering the Spegazzini Canal.
Lunch time has come. An exclusive menu finds its main course in front of Spegazzini Glacier. The approach to this glacier is astonishing: 80-to-135-metre-high front walls, a unique moment with enough time to enjoy it.
The route continues until reaching "Puesto de las Vacas". Participants are invited to disembark for a one-hour-long walk to the “post", discovering the Andean Patagonian forest and learning about the lifestyle before the National Park was established.
Back on the ship, the group heads to De Los Témpanos Canal, thus sailing in front of the Perito Moreno Glacier´s Northern Face. Finally, the way back to the private Pier La Soledad begins.
